We’re delighted to introduce Helen Heyns, an experienced Business Development Manager with 5 years’ experience in software sales, combined with 8 years’ experience in software training delivery. She has previously worked within an Agile environment, and is passionate about technology and delivering excellence.
In her spare time, Helen enjoys travelling; and has volunteered for a charity in Romania since 2004. She also has a real love of motorbikes, and has been riding them for over 8 years.
What have you enjoyed since joining the agil8 team?
It’s been great getting to know the team, as well as learning the role and the industry. I’ve also attended, and really enjoyed, the Certified Scrum Master course with David Hicks. This vastly expanded my knowledge of Agile and Scrum, and it was wonderful to see Dave in action.
What are you looking forward to the most (in terms of your role and working for agil8)?
I am looking forward to working with a passionate and dedicated team of office staff and trainers; and making a difference with a lot of passion and dedication of my own. I believe that what you put in is what you get out!
What has been the most unexpected thing that has happened to you in your career?
In my previous role, I was promoted and spent 14 months working in Boston, Massachusetts, to expand the sales team in the U.S. It was a fantastic opportunity and an experience I’ll never forget for a number of reasons – including an arctic Boston winter.
If you weren’t working in Business Development, what do you believe you would be doing today instead?
I would be travelling around the world. I love to travel, to meet new people and experience different cultures. My favourite location to date is Machu Picchu in Peru. I completed a solo trip there in 2017, and the view from the top was breathtaking – it’s truly magical.
